Birding is a popular activity for tourists visiting Rwanda. The country has a diverse range of bird species, including several endemic species, making it an ideal destination for birdwatchers. Here are some of the popular birding destinations and species in Rwanda:

Nyungwe Forest National Park: This park is home to over 310 bird species, including the Albertine Rift endemics such as the Rwenzori Turaco, Ruwenzori Batis, Red-collared Mountain Babbler, and Grauer’s Warbler.

Akagera National Park: Located in the east of Rwanda, this park is home to over 520 bird species, including the rare shoebill stork, papyrus gonolek, and red-faced barbet.
