Pick up in Kigali later start a Kigali city tour, get to learn more about Rwanda from the pre-colonial, colonial and post-colonial era as well as Genocide times. Start with Kigali Genocide Memorial Center where over 259,000 genocide victims were put to rest in mass graves and learn about the different world genocides and the peace processes that Rwanda is undergoing through since the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
Visit the Belgian camp where 10 UN peace keepers were killed trying to protect the moderate prime minister before start of Genocide. Visit the Nyamirambo Women Center (NWC) a Rwanda NGO, which has transformed disadvantaged women through vocational training - like sewing, handcrafts making, and literacy classes.
For the purpose of giving disadvantaged women a chance at a better life, in 2013, NWC created Umutima Cooperative, where women can generate an income through sewing and making handcrafts. Visit Local markets, Inema art center and end the day at the Question coffee to taste the pure Rwandan coffee grown by women in cooperatives.
